Lucy Quist is an international business leader and the multiple award winning CEO of Airtel Ghana – a member of the Bharti Airtel Group and Ghana’s fastest growing telecommunication company and industry leader in data and digital innovation – who passionately believes in harnessing the potential of people to deliver outstanding results in business and society at large.
A chartered engineer by training, she has successfully married her technical and commercial experience with strong business acumen to become one of Africa’s leading telecommunications business people driving breakthrough innovation within the industry.
Lucy has a reputation for turning around businesses for growth and positive reputation even in the most challenging situations. Since taking over the helm of affairs at Airtel Ghana in May 2014, as the first Ghanaian woman to lead a multinational telecom company, Lucy has successfully repositioned the company into the fastest growing telecom company growing customer market share for both voice and data consistently ahead of industry average and transforming Airtel into the most loved telecom brand in the daily lives of Ghanaians.
Aside the outstanding commercial achievements, she has also led Airtel Ghana to win more than 20 prestigious awards in two years including: Best data and internet service provider at the Ghana ICT and Telecom Awards (GITTA 2016), Marketing Campaign of the Year (GITTA 2016). At a personal level Lucy has been recognised by several reputable organisations for her transformational leadership, her exceptional strategic marketing insights, selfless dedication to growing people and for championing causes that are shaping the lives of young people on the continent including:

Lucy is an agent of change passionate about mentoring young people – the next generation of leaders to make systemic and sustainable change in the world. She is also a strong advocate for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) who believes that Africa can accelerate its development by fully harnessing the game-changing power of STEM.
She is an accomplished and highly sought-after public speaker who featured on platforms including the 23rd Annual Wharton Africa Business Forum (WABF) and TEDxAccra.
Lucy started her career in automotive engineering with Ford Motor Company working her way through design engineering, manufacturing and project management functions in the UK, Germany and Portugal. She also spent some time working in investment banking with the Royal Bank of Scotland She holds a first class degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of East London and an MBA from INSEAD.
